Economy minister says cbank’s 2019 inflation forecast too high

MOSCOW, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- The central bank’s 2019 inflation forecast of 4.2–4.7% is too high, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on June 15.

“We’ve already said that we have another inflation forecast, we see inflation below 4% this year. Our colleagues from the central bank adjusted their forecast, but we still think that it is too high,” he said.

The ministry’s inflation forecast stands at 4.3%, but Oreshkin said before that inflation in annual terms may fall below 5% until the end of June and below 4% at the end of 2019.

The central bank reduced its inflation forecast to 4.2–4.7% from 4.7–5.2% on June 14.
